204 Task C – Short Answer Questions
Ci  Explain what a social care worker must do if they become aware of unsafe practice.
Listen to the person we support
Follow procurer on whistle blowing
Report to my manager and if it’s to do with my manger or they don’t do anything about it, then report to a hierarchy or CQC.
Reassure the person we support that there doing the right thing telling me and explain its for their safety I have to report what I’ve seen or heard
Report and record everything either seen or service user has said but it must be in their own words

Cii  Describe what a social care worker must do if unsafe practice is reported but nothing is done to ensure it is corrected.

Tell other work colleges whats going on privately as long as there not involved
Go to hierarchy that’s above the house manager

Ciii  Describe three factors that may make individuals more vulnerable to abuse than others.
1,If support workers Do not like working in care work or working with the person they             are supporting.

2,If the person we support is not mobile gets confused ,dementia or has challenging behaviors may be at more risk as the career may not no hove to deal with this and has not had the correct training. Support worker may take things personally.

3, Living with a career may increase risks as support worker may become stressed or tired
Support work may have personal problems outside of work and bring them in to work and take it out on the person they are supporting.

4, Support worker is ill or tired this can lead to abuse/neglect without meaning to.

Civ  Explain how adopting a person centred approach which offers choices and upholds rights can empower an individual and help to reduce the likelihood of abuse.
If a person centred values are taken ing to consideration when being supported there less of a chance of abuse as all staff in the person we supports home will be working the same way. The people we support should have a say in everything they do like picking out there own clothes or picking what meal there having that day. Every decision should be made with the people we supports say or intrest.

Cv  Explain how encouraging and promoting active participation can help to reduce the likelihood of abuse.
By getting the person we support to take part in activities  and relationships of everyday life and independently as possible,
Supported to make their own choices like what foods they wont to eat whether or not they’d like a bath or shower , do they fancy going out that day and if so where .
Respect person we support rights their dignity and choice
Let people we support do what they like as long as its not dangerous.

Cvi  Explain how an effective and easy to use complaints procedure can help to reduce the likelihood of abuse.
The complaint procedure  give the person who is complaining a right to be heard, support for the views to be known. The complaint procedure is understandable and easy to use. It also sets a response time in which the complaint has to be dealt with. The complaint procedure is put into place so that people believe their being listened to and so they are aware that no kind of abuse will be tolerated. This  make it so more people feel happy and not scared to go ahead with any complaint they may have.
